Forget luxury sunglasses and your fancy noise cancellation headphones – in 2020 must have travel accessories are face masks and hand sanitizer: but if you get to a hotel or need a staycation, Accor hotels across India will make you feel welcome and safe, with stringent cleaning standards and operational protocols with their #AllSafe campaign.
With such elevated and intensified hygiene measures in place to ensure safety, there is no time like the present to visit any of the Accor hotels that you’ve been wish listing. One such hotel is Pullman New Delhi Aerocity –the only Pullman Hotel in the country, that I had been wish listing and finally made up my mind to visit them for a few days for an experiential.
Located in Aerocity area of Delhi, Hotel Pullman is within the close proximity to Delhi Airport and offers multiple incredible viewing areas to gawk at the jets take off from the runway. Once you are at Hotel Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, you will certainly find no shortage of exciting things to do in the hotel, plus you could be around Aerocity area – the hub for shopping, restaurants & cafes, within a short walk. Before I delve any further into the things that you could do at Pullman Aerocity, let’s first talk about things that makes Hotel Pullman stand out from all its counterparts.
Design:
Elegant and contemporary, the Hotel Pullman New Delhi Aerocity hotel has been designed by renowned architect Meriem Hall. 6000 rain drop lights shower installation in the lobby takes inspiration from a peacock dancing in anticipation of the rains, this creates a stunning effect when it’s all lit up. All through the hotel you’d see motifs and colours of this majestic bird interpreted in various forms.
Room:
Executive Suite, the second highest category of room at Pullman New Delhi Aerocity was on offer for my experiential and it was absolutely perfect for someone like me seeking for a spacious abode. The room came with all necessary upscale hotel amenities like – 42’LED TV, Espresso Machine, Bose Docking station, Free Wi-Fi, electronic safe, Exclusive Pullman bedding, Minibar etc. Boasting Panoramic views of the runway, the view from the Executive Suite was exciting for a plane spotter enthusiast like me. The engine roar was distant enough not to be a bother, but the planes are so near you can identify most aircraft without having to squint. One could spend the entire day reading off plane’s tail logos, and identify livery while breakfast in bed or cocktails by the work desk.
The Executive Suite also comes with an access to Executive Lounge that has a host of benefits. In addition, one could take advantage of the complimentary airport shuttle and a business center – just in case you need to get a little work while you’re enjoying your relaxing stay.
Things to do while you are at Pullman New Delhi Aerocity.
As tempting as it sounds to stay in the executive suite itself, there is plenty to entice you to get out and enjoy the other amenities at Pullman Hotel:
Farmer’s Basket at Pluck:
A one stop place at lobby level where you could experience retail, experience dining and also experience interactivity. An innovative concept centered around “You Choose, We Cook” where guests have a choice of the freshest produce, some which are grown at the hotel itself and from there you could have the chef point to any of the three cooking styles – Indian, Eurpoean & Asian. Once you are done, you could also purchase any of the produce like spices, pasta, pickles. Olive oil etc which are all available for sale. Brain child of Chef Neeraj Tyagi – Directory of Culinary, kudos to his effort for curating this concept that celebrates freshness.
Pling – Jazz and Blues Bar:
This luxe lounge bar serves light meals by day and turns into a vibrant upbeat bar that makes it a perfect venue for winding down with friends. Walk-in on a Friday and you’d be treated to an extraordinaire Jazz Night while your drinking shenanigans will involve specially curated cocktails & mixologist specials. Craft Cocktails and delightful tapas garnished with live jazz music – that’s Pling for you!
Vinoteca:
A concept that is synonymous with Pullman across the world boasts of some of the most impressive selection of wines I’ve ever seen. Driven by wine dispensing machines in order to attract wine aficionados, at Vinoteca, a minimum selection of ten wines and two champagnes is available to be served by the glass. The selection changes regularly as Pullman New Delhi encourages guests to try as many wines as possible.
Café Pluck:
Café Pluck at Pullman New Delhi Aerocity is simply one of the best dining options for an all-day/all night dining option around Aerocity. Among the usual café suspects, what makes Café Pluck stand out is the variety of comfort options that includes street food options, beverages, pastries, sandwiches, Pizza etc. One of the interesting aspects of Café Pluck is their quirk menu with art elements. They also serve Indian food in a tiffin box that rings in a bit of nostalgia.
Honk:
The signature restaurant of Pullman New Delhi Aerocity where the robust south eastern Asian flaovours comes alive. Predominantly serving food from major rice growing countries such as Thailand, China, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia & Burma – Honk is quite popular for the variety of dimsums and the innovative sushi that they offer along with a wide variety of Asian barbecue and handpicked dishes from each countries.
The Peking duck meal experience is highly recommended. The chefs carve the duck right in front of you at your table into smaller pieces, after which hoison sauce is spread on a pancake, added with green onions and a few strips of duck and folded into a wrap. The final result is a rush of tastes and flavors to complete your festive meal.
While you are at it, ask the mixologist to surprise you with their Asian inspired cocktails that includes something for everyone. Be assured, you’ll find your perfect accompaniment to any Asian style feast!
All in all, the artfully crafted experiences along with warm, personalized service and state-of-the-art amenities at Pullman New Delhi Aerocity is your perfect get away to relax and revive.
